New members have their handicaps allocated following a short passage of match play with a committee member. The average starting handicap is around +25 points.
Players failing to fulfil matches will not have their handicap adjusted for that round.
Handicaps will be adjusted following the loss/win of each round.
Players’ handicaps for competitions are set at the time the competition is drawn and recorded on the draw sheet.
Handicap changes resulting from other competitions will not affect handicaps in competitions already in play.
The Competitions & Handicap Sub-Committee reserves the right to adjust any players’ handicap before a competition.
For all handicap competitions (not the Scratch) the following adjustments will be made:
Singles competitions
Winner reduced by 10 points
Runner-up reduced by 3 points
Semi-finalists reduced by 2 points
Quarter-finalists increased by 3 points
Second round losers increased by 4 points
First round losers increased by 5 points
The winner of the Scratch competition will also be reduced by 10 points.
Double competitions
Winners reduced by 5 points each
Runners-up reduced by 2 points each
Semi-finalists increased by 1 point each
Quarter-finalists increased by 2 points each
First round losers increased by 3 points each
